Who: Thetis & Briareos
What: Thetis needs his help to free Zeus
When: Ancient times
Where: A beach in Greece
Things on Olympus were a mess. The Olympians all sought to bind Zeus, their rightful king. And while Thetis might not have been his biggest fan, she knew this was not right. Something had to be done, but as a nymph, her options were rather limited. However, there was someone that she knew of who might be better suited.
She waded into the ocean, stopping when the shore was little more than a white strip in the distance. Drawing in a great breath, she called out, "Briareos! Son of Gaia, hundred-handed, I would speak with you!" The wind picked up and blew her golden hair about her head, and she brushed it aside impatiently. Either he would come, or he wouldn't.

Briareos finally had freedom from the dark hole of Tartarus. Zeus had given he and his brothers freedom. Since they were conceived they had been shunned from the world. Abominations of nature.
Though he was free from darkness, he still hid in a dark cave on the ocean floor. He was used to defeat Cronus. Now he was an Olympian pet. So, when Thetis called for him he came like a dog on a leash. The same tempestuous nature of any sea god still rattling the earth as he emerged from his hole. He came to Thetis in his human form, feeling awkward in the human skin.
"You called?"

Even in human form, he towered over most men, and Thetis knew that she had made the right choice. Zeus had freed him and this brothers, hopefully she could convince him to join her in her efforts to free the Sky King.
"The Olympians have all gone mad," she told him. "They would see their king in chains, his wife and daughter chief among them. He did you a kindness, and I would ask your aid in doing him one in return. Zeus is king, anyone else sitting on the throne would simply be a usurper."

He was an original sea god so his resemblance to Poseidon was striking. Briareos towered over everything, his human skin hardly hiding much of the monster behind it. It tried to break out, the arms moving under his shoulders. He looked down upon this nymph, who was gracious in her offer despite who she stood against. He was more powerful than any of them now, it was why Zeus used him in the Titanomachy. Zeus had shown some compassion, an unknown thing to Briareos, but again it had been to the Olympians gain.
"I would be rewarded?" He asked but the demand was evident.

"I will see to it that you're given something for your troubles," Thetis assured him. "And if not me, the Sky King may very well be pleased enough to offer you something, but on that point I cannot say for certain. But I am sure he will remember that you aided him, and I will remember that you answered my call."

He looked over her in a grossly fashion, checking her face for lies. He had been told many things before just to be tossed into darkness despite his efforts. He wanted to live without the interruptions of others.
He felt shackled already to a promise. "Do you wish me to spill Olympian blood?" It sounded tempting. He was not sure how she wanted him to complete this task. Zeus was the new Sky King.
