"That's probably the best option," he said. "I don't even know where I'm going to sleep tonight, let alone how I'd get anywhere."

His smile was small and genuine. "I'd like that, thank you," he said. "Everyone I know is long dead, there's nowhere and no one I can really go and find." He nodded as she explained about the Gods of the area. "I can do that. Best not to upset anyone."

"I will," he said. "He reminded me of that when he sent a shade up to tell me to use it wisely." Then he remembered the stories of Hades and Persephone, and that explained a few things. "I didn't even think about that, I didn't even know what year it was, let alone the season."
